12:00 | Lima, May. 4.

The more than 16,000 volunteers who assisted with the organization and development of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games have been invited to take part in the new National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan for the elderly at 31 sites in Lima and Callao.

The Pan American Games Special Legacy Project —a body attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC)— has been authorized to call the volunteers and train them in providing support to the logistics and monitoring operation of the vaccination process.

The volunteers —aged between 18 and 45— will be extended an invitation to sign up, which will include a data update form. If an invitation is not sent or in case of inquiries, volunteers can send an email to the following email address: voluntariado@legado.gob.pe.

After that, they will be trained virtually and shall attend 6-hour in-person sessions at the headquarters of their choice. They need to attend at least 5 sessions a month.

It should be pointed out that the call is intended for Lima 2019 ex-volunteers who have no comorbidities, are not considered persons at risk, and have no police or criminal records.

Within the framework of the pandemic, participants will receive personal protective equipment (PPE), accident insurance, as well as an accreditation and certificate of participation. They will also receive a meal voucher.

This new task —entrusted to the Legacy Project at the request of the Ministry of Health (Minsa)— includes the planning, contracting, organization, storage, transportation, distribution, and monitoring of the logistics and support process for the vaccination program.
