Peru: Over 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered to children aged 5-11 years

From January 24 to date, 1,085,840 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given to children aged 5 to 11 years old throughout the country, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Monday.

In a post on Twitter, the ministry said that the aim is to protect children in this age group in the country from the risk of becoming seriously ill from the virus.

On the other hand, the government agency reports that 58,195,230 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered in the country as of noon today, February 7.

Out of this total, 26,351,414 were given as first dose; 23,333,846 as second dose, while 8,509,970 as third dose or booster dose.
