Economy and Finance Minister Maria Antonieta Alva on Thursday affirmed that the recovery of Peru's economic activity will start in the second half of this year, adding that the support of regional and local governments, as well as private investment, will be important to that end.
"I am confident that the recovery will take place in
the second half of the year. Obviously, the epidemiological variables shall always be monitored, and I think next year will be key to implementing infrastructure and competitiveness plans at once," Alva said in remarks to RPP radio and TV station.
"We believe that things have been done correctly. However, the measures we take are always under evaluation and may be perfectible. We are very optimistic about this second half," Alva pointed out.
"It is very important that regional and local governments help achieve these ambitious goals regarding the execution of public investment," she added.
The Cabinet member noted that the Government is in constant communication with the private sector and has established an agenda with the principal business guilds.
"It is time for collaborative work and collective responsibility, because we need to be disciplined and move forward together," she concluded.
