Peru: New Ministerial Cabinet sworn in

New President Manuel Merino de Lama on Thursday afternoon administered the oath of office to members of a Cabinet led by Prime Minister Antero Flores-Araoz.

The new ministers sworn in today are:

1. Franca Deza (Foreign Affairs)
2. Walter Chavez (Defense)
3. Jose Arista (Economy and Finance)
4. Gaston Rodriguez (Interior)
5. Delia Muñoz (Justice and Human Rights)
6. Fernando D’Alessio (Education)
7. Abel Salinas (Health)
8. Fernando Hurtado (Agriculture and Irrigation)
9. Juan Sheput (Labor and Employment)
10. Alfonso Miranda (Production)
11. Maria Magdalena Seminario (Foreign Trade and Tourism)
12. Carlos Herrera (Energy and Mines)
13. Augusto Raul Valqui (Transport and Communications)
14. Hilda Sandoval (Housing, Construction and Sanitation)
15. Patricia Teullet (Women and Vulnerable Populations)
16. Lizzet Rojas (Environment)
17. Maria del Carmen de Reparaz (Culture)
18. Teodoro Federico Tong (Development and Social Inclusion)

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.


A day earlier, Parliament approved the impeachment and removal of now-former President Martin Vizcarra from office.
