Peru: New Labor and Employment Promotion Minister sworn in

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, swore in Flavio Cruz Mamani as Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion during a ceremony at the Government Palace on Thursday.

The ceremony took place in Elespuru Hall at the Government Palace. It was attended by Cabinet members, led by Prime Minister Luis Arroyo.

Cruz Mamani holds a law degree from the National University of the Altiplano, as well as a bachelor's degree in Legal and Political Sciences from the same university.

He also earned a master's degree in Law, with a specialization in Corporate Law, from Alas Peruanas University.

The new minister has teacher training as a secondary school educator specializing in Language and Literature.

Professionally, he had been serving as a member of Congress during the 2021-2026 term.

He was chief of the Legal Advisory Office at the Local Education Management Unit (UGEL) of Puno and taught at the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences at the National University of the Altiplano. 

He worked as academic coordinator at the Technical-Productive Education Center of Puno.
