Peru: New Labor and Employment Promotion Minister sworn in

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, swore in Freddy Jose Maria Solano Gonzalez as the new Labor and Employment Promotion Minister.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace on Friday evening.

Prime Minister Luis Arroyo Sanchez also attended the event.

The new Labor and Employment Promotion Minister, who replaces Oscar Fernandez Caceres, is a distinguished public official who had been serving as Executive President of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperu).

Throughout his career, Solano Gonzalez has held senior positions, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of Peruvian Airports and Commercial Aviation Corporation (Corpac). 

At Corpac, he led the management of the country's air connectivity, a key component for the development of tourism and international trade.

Likewise, Solano Gonzalez held the position of Executive Director of the National Contigo Program of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis), promoting policies aimed at vulnerable populations and strengthening territorial management.

At the National Superintendence of Labor Inspection (Sunafil), he served as Deputy Superintendent, management advisor, and later Superintendent, building experience in oversight, labor formalization, and institutional strengthening.

Solano Gonzalez also held the post of Director of Basic Education for High-Performing Students (COAR) at the Ministry of Education.
