Out of 8,002 rapid and 198 molecular tests, a total of 3,291 (41.13%) citizens tested positive for the new coronavirus during the "COVID 10 Thousand" campaign that seeks to identify, control and contain the advance of the pandemic in the city of Cusco.

As is known, this campaign took place last Monday in 12 points of the southern metropolis, which covered the districts of Cusco, Wanchaq, Santiago, San Sebastian and San Jeronimo through the deployment of more than 400 specialists from the rapid response teams.


During the campaign, drug kits (containing ivermectin, azithromycin and paracetamol) and face masks were also distributed among the participants.


Faced with this situation, he assured that rapid response teams will visit households to identify those citizens and —if necessary— molecular tests will conducted "for an earlier diagnosis and timely treatment."

The campaign to identify other infected people will continue in three groups: the first in Cusco and La Convention Provinces where phase four was started; followed by a second group in Espinar, Urubamba, Anta, Calca; and the third group in the provinces with less population density.
