Peru: Manufacturing, service, trade, craft sectors reopen starting today

Supreme Decree 110-2020-PCM established that a series of 26 economic activities will be able to resume today in order to support the growth of the production apparatus, in strict compliance with health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

According to the regulation, the resumption involves activities across 21 business lines in manufacturing, 3 in service, one in trade, and one in craftsmanship.

The manufacturing sector includes leather tanning and dressing, in addition to dressing and dyeing of fur; manufacture of suitcases, handbags and similar articles, as well as saddlery and harness; manufacture of rubber tires and tubes; retreading and renovation of rubber tires; cutting, shaping and finishing of stone, among others.

Regarding the service sector, the legal provision authorizes the resumption of real estate activities with own or leased property; real estate activities in exchange for payment or under contract; as well as hairdressing and other beauty treatments.

On the other hand, wholesale agents of metals and metalliferous minerals will be able to operate in the trade sector.

Finally, the Executive Branch included the manufacture of handicraft products in the list of economic activities that are slated to resume operation in the second phase of the reopening process.
