Tonight at 7:00 PM (local time), Peru will say goodbye to the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, a multi-sports event that put the best athletes of the Americas to compete for 19 days and had a historic significance for our national sport-teams because the athletes surpassed records that had lasted 70 years.

The National Stadium will once again become the venue for the closing ceremony considered a "Dance of Diversity" to be in charge of the talented Lima 2019 production team and the prestigious Italian company Balich Worldwide Shows, a world leader in the live entertainment industry, which was also in charge of the opening of the event, as well as of the ceremonies of Turin 2006, Sochi 2014, and Rio 2016.

Nikos Lagousakos, creative director of the event, said this is their 13th ceremony and described as "special" their work in Peru.

"I was struck by the fact that in this beautiful country there are more than 3,000 dances, due to the great diversity of Peru. Therefore, this ceremony will be full of dance," said Lagousakos.

The Peruvian dances will be the focus at the ceremony that will close the sports festival with a golden finale.

"As a Peruvian, it is a great satisfaction to be at this ceremony and to put the Peruvian culture on display. We are diverse, and that diversity makes us bigger," said Fabricio Varela, director of the folklore cast.

The costumes were created by the talented Pepe Corzo, who has already supervised the creation of 1,000 colorful costumes. For his part, Lucho Quequezana continues leading the musical direction, and the renowned DJ Shushupe will set the pace for the ceremony in order to make athletes —who bid farewell from Lima— dance.

Chilean duo Power Peralta  —composed of brothers Gabriel and Raul Peralta, along with singer Francisca Valenzuela— will perform at the ceremony representing their country, which will host the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
