The Judicial Branch has issued 10-day preliminary detention against journalist Mauricio Fernandini and real estate businesswoman Sada Goray —within the framework of an investigation into them over the Marka Group case.

Via Twitter, the National Superior Court specified that Judge Raul Justiniano Romero, of the Eighth National Preparatory Investigation Court, had issued said ruling.

Similarly, it indicated that the magistrate had agreed to the request made by the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of the Special Team of Prosecutors against Corruption of Power.

Both Fernandini and Goray are being investigated for the alleged commission of criminal organization felonies and others to the detriment of the Peruvian State.

On Friday, the journalist was detained near the United States Embassy in Lima's Surco district, while the businesswoman was detained at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Callao region.
