Magistrate Jose Luis Lecaros Cornejo on Wednesday was sworn in as the new head of the Judicial Branch for the 2019-2020 term.
The selection process included four candidates and involved the participation of the 18 magistrates comprising the Supreme Court of Justice.
Lecaros has 18 years of experience in the administration of justice. He chaired the Judiciary's Transitory Criminal Chamber.
The brand-new chairman pledged to work efficiently in order to create a more transparent, corruption-free justice system at the service of citizens.
