on Wednesday morning traveled to northern Tumbes region, joined by a police contingent, in order to supervise the reinforcement of security on the border with Ecuador.
The Executive Branch representative left the
Police Aviation headquarters along with 50 Peruvian National Police (PNP) Special Forces Directorate (Diroes) agents, the
Interior Ministry reported via social media.
The 50 Diroes agents join the 400 police members who have been reinforcing border security since yesterday.
In a statement issued by the
Foreign Affairs Ministry,
it expressed support for the Government of President Daniel Noboa, as well as for democratic institutionality and stability in Ecuador, wishing for a prompt restoration of peace and security in said country.
The criminal groups attempt to impose measures in their favor on the Ecuadorian Government, which has in turn declared a state of emergency throughout its territory in the face of what it has described as an internal armed conflict.
