Peru holds general elections today

The 2021 general elections are held this Sunday, April 11. On the occasion, over 25 million citizens are expected to attend polling places to cast their vote.




In Peruvian territory, the most vulnerable people, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with disabilities were requested to arrive at the polls between 7:00 a.m. and 8:59 a.m.

Everyone else is encouraged to attend from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., in accordance with a staggered schedule featuring suggested voting times based on the last digit of their ID number.

If none of them is be able to obtain the percentage necessary to win the Presidency of the Republic in the first round, a runoff will be held on June 6.
