Peruvian Government will embark on a dialogue with political parties after December 9, the day of the referendum, President Martin Vizcarra announced on Friday.
The four proposed reforms address lawmakers' re-election, bicameral legislature, political parties' private financing, and a reform of the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) —renamed National Justice Board.
According to the Executive Power's spokespersons, a dialogue with political groups is intended to create a common agenda —by consensus— so as to boost the necessary reforms to enhance national development.
In his address to entrepreneurs, Vizcarra stressed the importance of stronger institutions,
separation of powers, and stability, which are important pillars to improve the country's competitiveness as well.
On the matter, he insisted his administration is pushing forward the reforms required to strengthen institutions in a context of full democracy.
The Head of State closed the 56th edition of the Annual Conference of Executives (CADE-Executives 2018) aimed at discussing the measures needed to fight corruption.
