Peru: Government extends COVID-19 health emergency thru March 2021

The Executive Branch has extended for 90 calendar days the state of health emergency due to the novel coronavirus, via Supreme Decree published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Friday.

The regulation indicated that the emergency extension will allow the Peruvian State to continue with the prevention, control, and healthcare actions to protect the population from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In accordance with Supreme Decree 031-2020-SA, the extension will start on December 7, 2020, and be in force for a period of 90 days until the first week of March.
 
During the emergency extension, the procurement of goods and services detailed in the lists of "Goods or services required for the activities linked to the COVID-19 health emergency" will continue.

The decree was signed by the President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti, as well as Ministers Pilar Mazzetti (Health) and Javier Palacios (Labor).
