Peru's Congress Chairman Francisco Sagasti has affirmed that he will choose a plural Cabinet characterized by honesty, efficiency, commitment, and teamwork once he assumes the Presidency of the Republic.

"The criteria are quite clear: honesty, efficiency, commitment, and teamwork. The aim is to cover the widest possible range. We have pledged to create a plural Cabinet that can represent the diversity of citizens in the coming months," he said in remarks to Canal N.

Sagasti —who will be sworn in as President of the Republic today— stressed that he will make every effort to lead the country during this transitional period.

Moreover, the current head of Congress said he is looking for the best individuals to create a gender-balanced Cabinet.

According to the soon-to-be President of Peru, the doors are open to all efficient professionals. Besides, he did not rule out summoning ministers who served in the administration of Martin Vizcarra.

"All possibilities are open (…)," he asserted.

In addition, Sagasti emphasized that he will ensure the separation of powers at State level, as well as a transparent and neutral electoral process.
