Former First Lady Nadine Heredia left prison on Monday at 5:15 PM (local time) nine months after being sentenced to preventive detention.
Days ago, the Constitutional Court
overturned the sentence ex-President Ollanta Humala and his wife (Heredia) received in July 2017.
Last Thursday, Constitutional Court Head Ernesto Blume confirmed the ruling concerning the habeas corpus petition issued to secure Humala and Heredia's release to face trial out of prison.
This way, the ruling revokes preventive detention warrant on the couple.
As is known, Ollanta Humala served as President between 2011 and 2016. He was succeeded by Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, who resigned the presidency in March 2018.
