The Ministerial Cabinet led by Antero Flores-Araoz resigned on Sunday, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) announced.

However, the resigning ministers will remain in office until a new Cabinet is appointed.

The Cabinet's resignation came after Manuel Merino de Lama delivered an Address to the Nation, in which he announced his irrevocable resignation from the Presidency of the Republic.

Merino has been in office for six days, and his resignation comes after the tragic events that ended up in the death of two young people during the national demonstration held on Saturday in Downtown Lima.
