Australian investments in Peru reach US$4 billion

There are currently more than 90 Australian companies in Peru, whose investments in the Inca country amount to approximately US$4.00 billion, according to information provided by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem).

Both countries have signed important agreements that will boost their commercial growth, such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

They are also negotiating a free trade agreement linked to the Pacific Alliance, as well as the air services agreement.
 
Within this framework, Peru will participate in the sixth International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC 2019) to be held in the city of Melbourne (Australia) from October 29 to 31, 2019.

Through Ministerial Resolution, it was decided to declare of interest for Peru the participation of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) in said conference.

Minem is one of the sponsors of the Organizing Committee of the Peruvian Mission at IMARC 2019, whose objective is to organize a public-private delegation that represents Peru in said event.

Together with Minem, the Peruvian Mission at IMARC 2019 is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign AffairsPeru's Geological Mining, and Metallurgical Institute (Ingemmet)Austrade; the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP); and the Chamber of Commerce Australia Peru (APCCI).
