Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Mario Lopez on Monday confirmed that negotiations with laboratories in the United States, Germany, and China ensure Peru an important basket of vaccines against COVID-19 for the first quarter of next year.

Within this framework, the high-ranking official indicated that there are eight laboratories with which the South American country has the closest approach —two of which have signed binding agreements with Pfizer and the COVAX Facility initiative.

"We have projected that they will be supplied in the first quarter; we are making progress, and we have a diversity of options," he concluded.
