Peru: Environment Min tests positive for COVID-19

The Peruvian Ministry of Environment on Friday reported that the sector's head Gabriel Quijandria tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

In a statement, the government agency indicated that the official will comply with social isolation guidelines at the Lima-based Pan American Village.

He is considered a vulnerable patient as the result of a surgical intervention and the recommendation of doctors for his speedy recovery.

On this occasion, the

Ministry of Environment requested citizens to continue respecting the sanitary measures such as using face masks, washing hands frequently, maintaining physical distance, and avoiding crowds, among others.
