On Wednesday, the vaccination of health professionals working in critical areas of patient care resumed very early in the hospitals belonging to Lima Metropolitan Area and Callao region.
The same happened very early at the National Maternal Perinatal Institute (formerly Maternity of Lima) in Downtown Lima, where nurses —well protected with face masks and shield— administered vaccines to health personnel under strict sanitary measures and in open spaces.
Likewise, dozens of doctors and personnel from the critical areas of the National Institute of Child Health (INSN) in Breña district were waiting to be vaccinated.
A spokesperson for this INSN reported that an average of 400 healthcare personnel are vaccinated from 06:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m., adding that they expect to complete the entire process in five days.
Regarding Santa Rosa Hospital (Pueblo Libre district), a large open space has been set up on a soccer field at the premises of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) —located very close to the hospital.
In this area, health workers of Santa Rosa Hospital orderly wait for their turn, seated and with a separation of more than one meter from one another.
In the case of Hermilio Valdizan Hospital (Santa Anita district) doctors and other health professionals have been convened to Chancas Stadium, where they were immunized against COVID-19 very early.
Concerning Ate hospital, front-line personnel are already at Ollantaytambo Stadium —located in the same district— receiving their vaccine doses.
Meanwhile, in the surroundings of Edgardo Rebagliati Hospital (Jesus Maria district), there is a queue of several blocks in which health professionals await their turn to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in a large space set up on the parking lot, next to the
Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) headquarters.
The same occurs at the following hospitals: Guillermo Almenara, Hipolito Unanue, Carlos Lanfranco La Hoz, and Sergio Bernales.
The vaccination day also continues on a regional scale, where various hospitals and health institutes administer the Sinopharm vaccines to their health personnel.
Goal
The
Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that the goal is to immunize 141,367 health professionals —with this first batch of vaccines— in critical areas.
The second dose will be administered starting March 3. That means 21 days after the first inoculation.
