The Ministry of Health (Minsa) on Friday reported that the COVID-19 vaccination card will remain mandatory for people over 18 years of age who intend to enter closed spaces or conglomerates —with the exception of workspaces.

Via Supreme Decree No. 030-2022-PCM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano last Sunday, the Government made official an amendment to Article 4. It detailed that all residents aged over 18 who enter closed spaces must present their physical or virtual vaccination cards that certify having received three vaccine doses against COVID-19 in Peru or abroad.

This measure applies to spaces such as shopping malls, markets, supermarkets, sports association venues, entertainment venues (clubs, pubs, and similar ones), banks, concerts, theaters, cinemas, gyms, churches, restaurants, and other establishments.

Passengers aged above 12

Similarly, passengers over 12 years of age who use domestic air transportation and land interprovincial services must present their vaccination card, since they will be allowed to board those vehicles if they prove to have received three doses and are eligible to get it, in accordance with the current protocol.

Those who have not completed the required doses, according to their age, must present a negative molecular test result no longer than 48 hours before boarding.

Meanwhile, those under 12 years of age only need to be asymptomatic to board.

Moreover, Peruvian citizens and foreign residents aged 12 years and over, whose final destination is located anywhere in the national territory, must prove that they have received three vaccine doses against COVID-19 in Peru or abroad.

For their part, foreigners who do not reside in Peru, but whose final destination is located in the national territory, must have received the vaccine —in accordance with the scheme valid in their origin country.
