During their statements, Gastañadui Ramirez and Nationalist Party's lawyer, David Leon, requested the acquittal of all charges presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
In previous sessions, the court heard the arguments of Nadine Heredia Alarcon, Ollanta Humala Tasso, Ilan Heredia Alarcon, Eladio Mego Guevara, Maribel Vela Arevalo, Mario Torres Aliaga, Antonia Alarcon Cubas, and Carlos Arenas Gomez Sanchez, all of whom denied the charges against them.
It is worth noting that defendant Rocio Calderon Vinatea waived her right to personal defense statement.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Humala Tasso allegedly received illicit money from the Brazilian construction companies Odebrecht and OAS for his 2011 presidential campaign, as well as from the Venezuelan regime by order of Hugo Chavez Frias in 2006.
The Third National Collegiate Criminal Court is composed, in addition to Judge Coronado Salazar, of magistrates Juana Mercedes Caballero Garcia and Max Vengoa Valdiglesias.
As is known, Ollanta Humala Tasso was President of the Republic from 2011 to 2016.
