Congress on Thursday resumed the plenary session aimed at debating on whether to grant the vote of confidence to Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez's Cabinet.

At the beginning of the session, a minute of silence was observed to commemorate 30 years of the Barrios Altos massacre, which occurred on the night of November 3, 1991.

Debate

As is known, on October 25 —when the confidence vote was being debated by lawmakers— the session had to be suspended because of the passing of parliamentarian Fernando Herrera.

Today, Prime Minister Vasquez and her Cabinet are present at the plenary session listening to the parliamentary debate.

According to Article 130 of the Constitution, the presentation of the Ministerial Cabinet must take place within 30 days after having been sworn in to office.
