Peru: Congress plenary session to debate third presidential impeachment motion

The Congress' plenary session will take place on Wednesday starting at 3:00 p.m. (local time) to debate and vote on the third impeachment motion against the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo.

Thus, legislators will debate the Order of the Day - Motion No. 4904, for the reasons set forth in Section 2) of Article 113 of the Political Constitution of Peru, which was introduced by non-grouped Congressman Edward Malaga Trillo.


Parliamentarians may attend the plenary session in person at the Parliament Chamber or remotely on the Congress session platform.

Moreover, Congress Chairman Jose Williams called on the Board of Spokespersons to hold a meeting today at 12:00 p.m. in the Miguel Grau Room at the Peruvian Congress building in Lima.

The Board of Spokespersons is made up of the Board of Congress and a Spokesperson from each Parliamentary Group, who shall cast a proportional vote to the number of members that make up their bench.
