At a plenary session on Thursday, Congress granted a vote of confidence to the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Luis Arroyo Sanchez, who appeared before lawmakers to present the Government's general policy and the main guidelines of his administration.

Parliament approved granting investiture to the Cabinet with 71 votes in favor, 15 against, and 17 abstentions.

The Cabinet chief, along with his ministers, presented the Government's general policy to the plenary, in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution's Article 130.

During his address, which lasted an hour, he said restoring security is the national priority, noting that citizen insecurity remains the main concern among Peruvian families.

The Prime Minister highlighted the continuation of the National Citizen Security and Fight against Crime Plan 2026–2028, including coordinated and firm actions against organized crime, extortion, and contract killings.

"We deeply understand the fear and desperation present in the streets. For that reason, this is the central focus of our agenda," he said.

The Cabinet chief indicated that the Government's general policy is based on three main pillars: citizen security, economic continuity, and democratic transition.

In that context, Arroyo reaffirmed the commitment to stability, responsible public finances management, and the delivery of concrete results.

Regarding the final axis, he explained that the goal is to ensure political stability and an orderly transition, reaffirming the Government's commitment to defending democracy and the country's institutional framework.
