presented on Thursday the Government's general policy at a plenary session of the Congress of the Republic, after which he requested a vote of confidence from the national representation.
The plenary session was held in accordance with the provisions of Articles 54(e), 55(e), and 82 of Congress' Regulations, which establish that lawmakers must listen to the presentation by the Cabinet chief and debate the Government's general policy.
The investiture of the Council of Ministers is regulated under Article 130 of the Political Constitution and Article 82 of Congress' Regulations.
According to Article 130 of the Constitution, the Prime Minister, within 30 days of taking office, appears before Congress, together with the other ministers, to present the Government's general policy and the main measures required for the administration.
It also states that "the vote of confidence raised by the President of the Council of Ministers (Prime Minister) on behalf of the Cabinet as a whole will be debated and voted on during the same session or the following one, as previously agreed by the Board of Directors or decided on the floor by the plenary of Congress."
