During a plenary session on Thursday, Parliament censured Health Minister Hernan Condori after having approved the motion which called for his departure from the Ministerial Cabinet.

71 parliamentarians voted in favor, 32 against, and 13 abstained. Thus, it was possible to censor the health sector's head, who will have to step down.

"This agreement will be communicated to the President of the Republic so that the provisions of Article 132 of the Political Constitution of Peru and Section b) of Article 86 of the Regulations of Congress of the Republic are complied with," its Chairwoman Maria del Carmen Alva expressed after announcing the voting results.

The aforementioned motion was supported with the signatures of legislators from parties: Avanza País, Renovación Popular, Juntos por el Perú, Alianza para el Progreso, Somos Perú, Acción Popular, as well as non-grouped legislators Carlos Anderson, Enrique Wong, Susel Paredes, Flor Pablo, and Edward Malaga Trillo.

The official letter presented by Bazan stated that Condori "was exercising the profession in an inappropriate manner by promoting the sale of Cluster X2 ('clustered water') attributing to it medicinal properties which have not been verified or certified by any official or academic authority."

Condori was also questioned for promoting a cervical cancer diagnostic service within one minute, as he might not have expertise in gynecology or oncology.
