Peru: Colca Valley to receive over 5,000 tourists on Holy Week

14:34 | Caylloma (Arequipa region), Apr. 18.

Colca Valley —Arequipa region's most important attraction— expects to welcome over 5,000 foreign and domestic visitors during Holy Week celebrations, Colca Autonomous Authority (Autocolca) informed Thursday.

Sightseers will be able to participate in diverse religious and cultural activities these days, apart from visiting tourist attractions.

Likewise, Autocolca Manager Francisco Portugal indicated Colca Valley districts have prepared a broad activity program that will enable tourists to enjoy diverse religious activities, without the need for making long trips in order to learn more about Andean traditions.

Furthermore, Arequipa citizens will be allowed to enter the valley free of charge on Thursday and Friday, an order made by Autocolca aimed at promoting local tourism.

This way, families will be able to visit Arequipa's main tourist attraction.

As is known, Peru is celebrating the Holy Week thru April 21.
