Peru: Chinese doctors visit Military Hospital, share COVID-19 experiences

Chinese doctors who are currently in Peru to share experiences in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic visited Central Military Hospital facilities in Lima's Jesus Maria district.


Joined by the hospital's Medical Director General Marco Ibarcena Reyes, the experts visited the molecular testing laboratory, which will be ready to go into operation Sunday, June 7, and will increase its COVID-19 response capacity.

Strategy and response

The delegation shared China's experience in strategies to combat COVID-19 and provided information about preventive measures, epidemiological follow-up, pandemic control, as well as clinical management of mild, moderate, and severe cases.

Additionally, they reported on the methods and formulas used in the Asian nation in order to reduce the risk of infection among health workers in the front line of the fight against COVID-19.

The delegation is made up of doctors specializing in pulmonology, infectious diseases, intensive care and neurology from Nanfang Hospital of Guangdong Province.
