China will promote further cooperation with Peru in the field of infrastructure, the Asian Giant's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) informed.
According to
NDRC's Department of International Cooperation representative Li Bin, the Inca country is Latin America's second-most important destination for Chinese investments, with a total of US$18.40 billion.
"There are more than 100 Chinese companies whose branches and offices are based in different parts of Peru," he told Andina news agency.
Furthermore, Bin remarked China seeks to strengthen its relationship with the South American nation within the framework of the
Belt and Road Initiative.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, this initiative is a trade and infrastructure plan aimed at connecting Asia with Europe, Africa, and Latin America, as well as boosting common development.
"We promote production and investment capacities. We will foster further cooperation with Peru in infrastructure," he concluded.
