Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Mario Lopez and South Korean Ambassador Yungjoon Jo have signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Humanitarian Aid from Korea to Peru, with the aim of facing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister Lopez thanked Ambassador Yungjoon for the Korean Government's willingness to continue supporting Peru through the second donation of medical equipment.

In addition, he announced that part of this important contribution will be delivered personally during the trip that he plans to make to Loreto soon, with the aim of coordinating the Government's priority actions in that jurisdiction during the health crisis.

Both authorities agreed on the importance of implementing a COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 cooperation agenda, which takes into consideration the need to promote innovation and new coordination modalities in all sectors that have been affected by the pandemic, in order to regain the socio-economic development.

As a result of this presidential administration, South Korea has been sharing experience, clinical data and medical devices that have contributed to the national effort in the current context characterized by the pandemic.

The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters.
