Peru allocates Pan American Village for coronavirus patients

15:29 | Lima, Mar. 18.

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday announced that the Pan American Village, located in Lima's peripheral Villa El Salvador district, will be destined to the treatment of coronavirus (COVID-19) patients.

In a press conference, the Head of State explained that the first tower of the Pan American Village will be set up starting Thursday, March 19, and will be ready next week.

The top official noted that the place will be aimed at hospitalized patients requiring oxygen. It will not admit seriously-ill patients, as they will be brought to the Ate Hospital.

The statesman said that this decision has been taken considering that higher infrastructure demand for more patients should not be expected.

This will provide a response capacity, he emphasized.
