Peru: Agro-exports projected to total US$7 billion in 2020

Remarks were made during the inauguration of the 2020 Virtual Expoalimentaria fair, which will be held until November 15 through the B2Peru platform.

"We will exhibit our offer online supported by all the advantages of a face-to-face event. Thanks to this initiative, companies will be allowed to connect in real time (with international buyers)," he said.

The officer stressed that this event is held with the hope of relaunching Peru, which —day by day— proves its great sense of struggle, resilience, and capacity to adapt to the new demands.

"The flagship products, recognized around the world for their high value, will be on display and contribute to the sector's growth (…)," he expressed.

For his part, Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Jorge Montenegro said that —since its inaugural version— Expoalimentaria has always counted on the support of the portfolio, bearing the fruits of an efficient alliance between the government and private companies to offer the world Peruvian food and generate business opportunities that provide well-being to agricultural producers and their families.

In turn, Foreign Affairs Minister Mario Lopez affirmed that Peru has the conditions of a strategic and competitive supplier of high-quality products.

He added that the variety —to be put on display— responds to current trends in international demand, which constitutes the appropriate context for the expansion of Peruvian superfoods.
