Peru: Agro-exports expanded 15.2% in Jan 2019

Peruvian agro-exports totaled US$670 million in January 2019, thus expanding 15.2% compared to the same month last year, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) has reported.

This outcome was underpinned by an increase in shipped volumes (26.4%). 

In this sense, grapes, blueberries, mangoes, and shrimp feed stood out. 

The main destinations were the United States (22.8%), Hong Kong (15.5%), and Ecuador (20.9%). 

Concerning economic blocs, exports to North America (25%), Asia (21.1%), and Andean countries (27.7%) increased.
