A total of 446 tourist attractions within 48 tourist destinations located across Peru have received the Safe Travels Stamp —bestowed by the
World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC)— which recognizes them as safe for tourists at times of COVID-19.
According to the government official, this is an important achievement of the Transition and Emergency Government, which will give a clear boost to the recovery of tourism, particularly this year, as it marks the Bicentennial of Peru's Independence.
Therefore, she called on regional and local governments to continue working in favor of this sector.
"The Safe Travels Stamp firmly contributes to the responsible and safe reopening of tourism, as well as the economy," the minister expressed.
"Regaining the confidence of travelers is important, and this distinction will help us achieve such goal. I would like to underline the fact that we have reached the set target, which is important. That was our commitment, and we are satisfied," she added.
