As part of the Territorial Aid Operation for Treatment and Isolation in Response to COVID-19 (Tayta Operation), the Health Ministry sent a total of 36,000 rapid tests and 25,000 medicine kits to the Peruvian regions of Tacna, Cusco, Ayacucho and Ica, in order to reinforce care and contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The corresponding actions will be implemented in those four regions on August 20, 21 and 22, supported by 41 health professionals, who traveled earlier today to provide timely and immediate care to the vulnerable population and citizens with comorbidities.

Health personnel will be deployed in various points of care set up in the cities. In addition, health brigades will carry out house-to-house visits for screenings, clinical examination, as well as for the delivery of medicines and food to confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients.

As is known, The Ministries of Defense and Health, the Armed Forces, the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud), as well as regional and local governments work in a coordinated manner with the aim of containing the advance of the pandemic in Peru.
