In order to reveal and update the information on COVID-19 vaccination in Peru, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) has renewed the presentation of the main indicators of this process, taking into account the updated eligible population numbers (everyone aged 5 years and older).

According to the latest update, 32,781,250 people are now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19, as compared with 27,946,434 in the past.

This is due to the fact that 4,236,070 children aged 5-11 have been added to the COVID-19 vaccine eligibility list, while deceased persons and Peruvians living abroad were removed.

This update has caused vaccination coverage ratios to decrease throughout the country, but this is only due to a statistical effect.

Thus, 80.11% of the eligible population have received one dose, 71.11% got two doses, 25.7% were given three doses.

The new eligible population register was prepared by Minsa using the data provided by National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), the Migrations Office, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

These data were subject to control mechanisms, that is, minimum criteria were used, such as names, surnames, date of birth, and nationality.

The eligible population and the advance of vaccination according to their age group, the number of doses, and the territories where they are located can be found on this website.
