Peru: 12-month inflation expectations down to 2% in Feb 2020

The 12-month-ahead inflation expectations fell from 2.1% in January 2020 to 2% in February 2020, thus standing within the target range (between 1% and 3%), the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Monday.

Likewise, the issuing entity indicated that inflation expectations have remained within the target range since May 2017.

Additionally, for 2020, inflation expectations of financial and non-financial companies as well as economic analysts were between 2% and 2.1%.

For 2021, said expectations were between 2.1% and 2.3%, and for 2022, between 2.3% and 2.4%, within the target range.

For this year, economic analysts reduced inflation expectations from 2.1% to 2%, while financial companies maintained their projection at 2%. 

For their part, non-financial companies lowered Peru's inflation expectations from 2.2% to 2.1%.
