A batch of 1,296,300 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Peru on Sunday morning, which will allow increased vaccination of the adult population across the country, the
Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Sunday.
This first batch landed at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport at 11:00 a.m., via a KLM flight from Belgium.
"Today is a very special day because we are receiving one of the vaccines whose studies are the most advanced ones," he said.
Lopez explained that these doses expire in 9 months, noting that this is the longest period of validity among all vaccines that have arrived in Peru to date.
