The Peruvian musical group "Orquesta Candela" stood out at the Unidad Latin Music Awards, held in New York, United States, by winning the "Best Tropical Artist" category in the cumbia genre.

"It's a great thrill for us to win this award in the tropical genre. It means our work is being seen abroad; that fills us with pride and is a huge motivation to continue on the right path," proudly revealed brothers Víctor, Donald, and Billy Yaipén.

On the other hand, Josep Alvan, director of the Unidad Awards in New York, is surprised by the reception of Peruvian cumbia around the world, especially now that the group recently released "Todavía" with Panamanian star Joysi Love, formerly of "La Factoría."

The group also recorded the song "Tan dentro de mi alma" with Grupo 5. They also revealed that collaborations with American Grammy winners Tony and Mimmy Succar and Elvis Crespo are on the way.

"This year, 2026, we're going strong. The idea is to take a big leap toward internationalization. Why not also aspire to international awards like the Grammys and Billboard Awards?" stated the leaders of Orquesta Candela.
