Canadian boxer Olivia Gerula says she is willing to fight WBA champion Kina Malpartida, since "she's a real champion".
Olivia Gerula is the current WBC super featherweight champion and she would be the opponent of WBA champion Kina Malpartida in case Kina decided to unify that crown.
"I would like to fight anyone who is a real champion, she has a WBA title and I have a WBC. It's a very good match for me," she told Andina news Agency.
Gerula praised Kina's efforts in positioning the name of Peru in the world and congratulated Peruvians for having a champion like her.
"I think she's a very good boxer and I like what she's done for the sport here in the country. I think that's great that you guys have a champion that you are so proud of and that's a wonderful thing," she noted.
The Canadian boxer arrived in Lima for an exhibition fight against the American Melissa ST. Vil on February 27.
Gerula came from Winnipeg, Canada, while her rival came from Detroit, United States.
