The recently sworn-in President of the Republic Manuel Merino on Tuesday affirmed that Peru needs to continue the process of economic reactivation by strengthening small and large-sized enterprises to generate new jobs.

"Our country needs to continue the process of economic reactivation and the relaunch of the economy," he said in his inaugural speech at the Congress headquarters.

The Head of State deems it essential to strengthen the companies in order to ensure the generation of jobs, mainly for those who lost it because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"There can be no delay in boosting the market, strengthening large and small-sized enterprises," Mr. Merino stated.

"This strengthening must ensure the creation of jobs and the resumption of economic activities of those who lost their jobs and have been affected by the pandemic," he added.
