New Japan Ambassador seeks stronger bonds with Peru

10:02 | Tokyo (Japan), Feb. 1.

New Japanese Ambassador to Peru Sadayuki Tsuchiya visited his Peruvian counterpart Harold Forsyth. The meeting took place at the Peruvian diplomatic mission's headquarters in Tokyo early last month.

During the visit, the Japanese diplomat noted that it is quite an honor to represent his nation in Peru, a country that, he said, means so much to them.

Mr. Sadayuki Tsuchiya admitted he hopes to strengthen the bonds between both countries.

For his part, Ambassador Forsyth said: "there is no doubt you will do a great job in Peru, where we are awaiting you with open arms."

The Peruvian envoy took this opportunity to wish him every success in his duties.

The two diplomats exchanged views on the good state of bilateral relations and shared their perspectives for the following years.

Ambassador Tsuchiya is expected to arrive in Lima by late February.
