Mistura bestows "Silver Aji Award”, names best pastry chef today

On the eve of its closing day, the Third International Gastronomic Fair Mistura 2010 will bestow the "Silver Aji Award", the highest recognition given by PromPeru in coordination with the Peruvian Society of Gastronomy (Apega), which rewards perseverance and recognizes the bastions of Peruvian cuisine.

According to Mistura organizers, this year awarding ceremony will take place where the gastronomic boom starts every day at 5:00 in the morning: the field.

Mistura 2010 will reward the work of six farmers from different regions across the country, seen as bastions of preservation, Peruvian agro-biodiversity soldiers and ambassadors that eagerly express their pride of being Peruvians.

The "Best Pastry Chef Competition" is also scheduled for today at 11:00 am (16:00 GMT) at the Contest Auditorium.

Among those who will compete for this award are Yanett Segura/Judith Esteban; Lice Olivares/Johana Esquivel; Karla Chumpitaz/Anarella Alva; José Villalobos/Claudia Falco and; Hugo Lázaro/Diego Elías.
