Japan donates protective equipment to Peru for coronavirus response

The Government of Japan and the Peru-Japan Countervalue General Fund donated protective equipment and other medical supplies to the Government of Peru in order to help strengthen the South American country's response capacity to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported.

The donation includes 3,000 face masks, 3,000 pairs of gloves, 2,000 overalls, 1,000 UV safety glasses, 1,000 filters for particulate protection respirators, 500 face shields, 25 portable power generators, and 10 foot-operated sanitizer dispensers.

The supplies were destined for the National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci).

"This important contribution helps strengthen Peru's response capacity to COVID-19, which provides adequate protection equipment to the personnel working on the frontline to deliver humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable population," the ministry pointed out. 

Through social networks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the Government of Japan and the Peru-Japan Countervalue Fund for this contribution.
