Benevento attacker is not unknown to Gareca. Four years ago, the coach traveled to Italy to watch him play. However, at the time, Lapadula showed no interest in joining the South American country's squad, as he was going through a great moment in Italy. Given his performances and goals, he was transferred from Pescara (Serie B) to AC Milan (Serie A).
Among the other important announcements are those of defender Jean Pierre Rhyner and goalkeeper Renato Solis, who will be joining the squad too.
