This announcement came at a proper time for the team, as its main striker Paolo Guerrero is injured and off the courts thru April 2021.
The Benevento attacker
is not unknown to Gareca. Four years ago, the coach traveled to Italy to watch him play. However, at the time, Lapadula showed no interest in joining the South American country's squad, as he was going through a great moment in Italy. Given his performances and goals, he was transferred from Pescara (Serie B) to AC Milan (Serie A).
