The International Labor Organization (ILO) and Peru's Labor and Employment Promotion Ministry (MTPE) signed an inter-institutional cooperation framework agreement to develop decent work-oriented policies in the Andean country.
The aim is that both institutions promote labor force formalization, freedom of association, fundamental rights, safety and health at work, green
jobs, gender equality, and strengthened women's leadership in the public sector.
Likewise,
ILO and MTPE seek to promote efforts to eliminate the worst forms of child and forced labor, boost labor inspection, as well as employment of youth and
vulnerable groups.
Plus, the idea is to revitalize labor programs, the labor market information system, networks of employment services, the development of job skills, dual-learning models, among other issues.
The agreement will also serve to enhance the technical assistance
work undertaken by
ILO and MTPE so far.
