The
Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) has put its health establishments on alert in order to serve —in a timely and adequate manner— the insured, who may be affected by any emergency that can occur during the long break.
EsSalud said that the measure is intended to coordinate preparation and response actions at 30 EsSalud service and assistance networks throughout the country.
In this regard, the health staff will be attentive to any unforeseen event, especially in the the following services: Emergency, Intensive Care Unit, Burn Unit, Delivery Room, Surgical Center, among other critical areas.
Each EsSalud Network has contingency plans, which include healthcare personnel, medicines and other necessary elements to guarantee health care.
EsSalud, through the Central Operations Department, will monitor health facilities permanently and will report on emergencies, disasters or events of imminent danger that may affect the life and health of the people as well as the infrastructure of the health centers.
